Mits Meldas on Mori TV-400

Hello All,

I recently purchase a Mori TV-400. Basically everything was fine on the initially power up homing on all axis and everything, but I messed up by manually actuating the tool changer arm trying to get familiar with functions of panel. I am not nearly as saavy with troubleshooting the Mits like I am the Fanucs. Right now the tool changer arm is hanging down and the z axis is in an interlock state and wont jog/home. The tool changer arm wont home either until the z is satisfied I believe. Can you tell me what parameters will temporarily release the interlocks? I tried Y1C2 param from reading on practical machinist, but it only unlocked the Z+ direction.

Thanks,

Blake

Fanuc AC Servo Interchange: 6058-H323

My amp (6058-H323) went out in my Hardinge 42. Sent it in for repair and its NOT repairable. Service center wants to charge me $6400 for a remaned 6058-H334. I am finding drives on the bay much cheaper. Just need to know what amps will interchange with 6058-H323. And if I do find an interchange will I need the top board bc I have already gotten a remaned top board, but it was for my H323.

G2 and G3 arc move problems

have a older Fanuc 15 controls and we use G2 or G3 and I and J for arc moves and sometimes get CRC error. the math is correct but sometimes control will not do a complete circle move
.
odd thing is sometimes if the tool dia comp is adjusted then it works. it is not like arc is smaller that cutter diameter. i am guessing it is rounding off numbers and the math is not adding up. even a .0001″ error will cause it to stop.
.
i have suggested doing 2 half circle moves instead of a full circle. it is just we have had many similar programs programmed the same way and it works. like i said often adjusting tool comp even .0004″ and then it will work.
.
i am just wondering if any others have the same occasional problem and how do they get out of it ? break up into 2 or 4 arc moves instead of trying a full circle ??

Mistcollectors

We are thinking about adding mist collectors to our cnc machines to control the smoke and vapor coming off our lathes and mills. We have a Royal filter mist collector on a couple of lathes that work ok. What do you guys think works the best with the least maintenance.

Makino

We have a 1998 Makino, I failed to note the model number, that is giving us two alarms; 601 and 609, Radiator Fan Failure. In the book, it tells us these are for the X and Y servo motor dissipator stirring fans. We have had trouble in the past with the radiator for the spindle cooler, but that radiator shows all green lights. Does anyone know where the stirring fans are or how to clear these alarms?
